Great news for Cheshire! 🌟 More than 40 amazing local projects have just been awarded a share of £150,000 from Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price’s SWAP Fund – that’s Safety, Working Together, Action and Prevention. The fund was originally £100,000, but after a huge surge in applications – nearly three times more than last year – Dan decided to boost it by an extra £50,000 so even more great ideas could come to life. From youth clubs and sports teams to wellbeing and inclusion projects, these grants are helping communities right across Cheshire. In Chester, groups like Lache Junior FC and Cheshire Roar are expanding opportunities for young people. In Ellesmere Port, projects will promote healthy living and improve local facilities. And in Crewe, Men in Sheds and Choose Your Story are supporting wellbeing and empowerment. Dan said it best: “These projects show the power of community action – helping people find purpose, pride and connection.” The SWAP Fund is powered by money seized from criminals and has now invested £350,000 into local projects since 2024. A full list of this year’s funded groups is available online – take a look and be inspired! | ||
